Image Code Reader for Zone 1 & 21 Hazardous Areas

Extronics, a leading supplier and manufacturer of intrinsically safe and explosion-proof electrical and electronic equipment, has launched the iSCAN300 Zone 1 image code reader. Certified ATEX II 2 G EEx d IIC T5 or T6 & II 2 D IP66 T85°C or T100°C.

The iSCAN300 reader brings the benefits of efficient manufacturing data control to Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas where it was previously unavailable.

Incorporating the capability to read 1D and 2D codes the iSCAN300 provides a high level of reliability and its high quality images overcomes weak contrasts, misaligned, dirty and poor markings, whether on labels, cartons or directly marked on the product.

Long range and high speed options are available with reading and decoding rates up to 60 images per second. Popular 1D and 2D codes can be read in any orientation.

In addition, the image code readers can be easily selected to meet specific application needs and the integrated controllable LED illumination ensures optimum reading even on curved objects.

Live picture output from the image code reader is available for easy alignment and installation set up. The iSCAN300 is also available with a choice of interfaces as standard including Ethernet to integrate into an existing data environment. The Auto setup feature in the firmware enables the scanner to be configured and optimised in seconds and Ethernet with File Transfer Protocol is established automatically without any specialist operator knowledge.
